The first single from Robbie Williams’s comeback album has had its first showcase and looks set to be an instant chart hit.Bodies, the first single from upcoming album Reality Killed The Video Star, will receive its chart release next month and looks Robbie return to his pop roots. Veteran music producer Trevor Horn (responsible for production on Pet Shop Boys and Simple Minds albums) has lent his expertise to the new sound which resultedly has more than a hint of Robbie’s northern roots, with a notable work from Ian Brown. The pop track features Robbie’s usual rhyming lyrics and a religious twist, showcasing Robbie’s more contemplative side, when the singer belts out: ‘Jesus actually died to me. Jesus tried for me.’The promotional pictures to attach to Bodies also gigs how Robbie’s taking his comeback earnestly, working hard to get his body back in shape, shedding a couple of stone to return to his trimmer form.
And with Radio 1 already pushing the track, six weeks ahead of its release and Radio 2 planning to make it single and record of the week, it looks the bad boy of pop is back, back, back!
